Privacy policy
Effective 2 November 2026
Grovekeeper is a desktop planner that runs on your own Windows computer. This policy explains what data it uses and where that data goes. In short: your data stays on your computer, and Grovekeeper does not sell, share or upload it.
Data stored on your computer
Your tasks, routines, notes, progress, settings and Grove customization are saved in a folder on your own computer. Grovekeeper has no user accounts and no server of its own, so the developer never receives this data. Backups you create are files you save yourself.
Google Calendar (optional)
You can choose to connect a Google account so your calendar events appear in Grovekeeper's Month view. When you connect, Google asks you to allow these read-only permissions:
- See the list of calendars in your account (
calendar.calendarlist.readonly), so you can pick which calendars to show. - See events on your calendars (
calendar.events.readonly), so those events can be displayed by date.
How Grovekeeper uses this Google data:
- It is used only to show your events inside Grovekeeper on your computer.
- Grovekeeper cannot create, change or delete anything in your Google account.
- Event details and the calendar list are saved on your computer so the calendar still shows while you are offline. The sign-in token Google issues is encrypted by Windows on your computer and is never included in backups or exports.
- Your Google data is not sent to the developer or to anyone else, is not sold, is not used for advertising, and is not used to train AI or machine-learning models. No person reads it.
- Calendar events never become tasks and never affect your levels or rewards.
Grovekeeper's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Disconnecting and deleting Google data
In Grovekeeper, open This week → Month → Calendars & holidays and choose Disconnect. This deletes the saved sign-in and all saved Google events from your computer. You can also remove Grovekeeper's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Uninstalling Grovekeeper and deleting its data folder removes everything it stored.
Other internet connections
If the optional daily content setting is on, Grovekeeper downloads a public quote, word of the day and historical events from public sources such as ZenQuotes, Merriam-Webster and Wikipedia. These requests do not include any of your personal data. Holiday calendars are built into the app.
No tracking
Grovekeeper contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and it does not collect information about how you use it.
Children
Grovekeeper is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
